Nutritionist reception. Nutritionist is a specialist with appropriate specific education who will teach you how to make the right choices in nutrition. Nutritionist will help you choose the foods and diet that are right for you. A healthy nutrition and a proper diet are not only necessary for losing weight, but also for maintaining health, improving quality of life and prolonging life. The help of a nutritionist may be needed by anyone, including those who are at a normal weight, because many skin and health problems (such as allergies) are related to unsuitable food for this person. Food is our source of energy, it is our fuel and building material for growth and normal functioning of the human body – therefore, choosing and eating proper and diverse food is very important.
Nutritionist does not sell you the nutrition plan but guides and teaches you to eat healthier considering your individual needs, taste preferences, time resources, cooking skills and capabilities. The purpose of counselling is to contribute to lifestyle change and not to the short-term challenge of losing weight, after which everything becomes the same again.
During the counselling it is possible to find a suitable diet in cooperation with specialists. If necessary, you can have blood tests done at our facility to determine, for example, the level of haemoglobin, ferritin, vitamins and minerals in your blood. Gluten and lactose intolerance tests are also recommended. Check out the tests here.
Who and when is advised to come to a nutritionist?
It is worth coming to a nutritionist for all ages and for different reasons. Here are some of the main reasons why you should come for counselling:
- if you are overweight
- if you are underweight
- if you are vegan
- if you are pregnant
- if you are planning a pregnancy
- with your family if you have problems with your children’s nutrition
- women and men during the transition period
- if you have low haemoglobin levels
- if you have high blood sugar or cholesterol levels
- during puberty
- if you have problems with acne, oily or excessively dry skin
- if you have problems with digestion (constipation, slow digestion)
Diet is not only about losing weight; it is a lifestyle. A healthy diet means that a person can find the right foods and have enough vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
The right foods for you will help you lose weight and you won’t have to deal with weight problems.
Different health professionals work in our health centre and the nutritionist can refer you to our general practitioner, who can explain the results of your blood tests and working together, our specialists will find the right solutions for you.
The nutritionist’s appointment lasts one hour, and it is advisable to attend the counselling at least three to five times. The interval at which it is required to visit the nutritionist is determined by the nutritionist during the receptions.
